Tellus Bound!!!

Hello dear parents! We have been extremely busy over the last couple of weeks. I apologize for not having a post up until this point. Here are a couple of updates for this week.

This week we will be going to the Tellus Musuem. We are extremely excited to tour the galleries and review our units on rocks and minerals and fossils. Please remember to have your child at school on time on Tuesday. We will be leaving at 9:30 am. Students also need to remember to either pick up a sack lunch from the cafeteria or bring a lunch from home in a disposal bag.

Tuesday will be a very busy a day for us. During our school day, we will be visiting the Tellus Museum. Tuesday evening Sedalia Park will host Curriculum Night at 6:00 P.M. We look forward to you coming out to learn more about what we are covering this nine weeks.

Here's a little update on what's trending in our room currently. In language arts, we are taking a look at narratives, adjectives, and opinion writing. In science, we have been learning about Georgia Habitats and animals adaptations. In math, we are creating line plots using data that we have measured. We also are continuing to work on learning our multiplication facts.

Happy New Year!!!!!

Happy New Year everyone!!!! I hope that all of you had an awesome holiday break.  I got lots of rest and can't wait to have a great rest of the year!!!!!!! Here are a couple of updates for this week.

Thank you so much for all of my holiday gifts!!! I so appreciate it.  I enjoyed going to the movies over the break as well as visiting Starbucks many times.  Your generosity was simply wonderful!!!!!! I would also like to thank all of you for your contributions to our holiday party.  Also thank you to those parents who helped make our celebration fun- Mrs. Oh, Mrs. Little, and Mrs. Gale. It was truly a blast.

Today, we worked on setting goals for the New Year!!! We have set AR goals as well as personal and content goals. I look forward to helping your child achieve their goals!!!!!! Please constantly encourage your child to do his/her best.

As we get all geared up for the next nine weeks, we will be learning lots of new things.  Here's what's trending in our rooom.  In math, we will be studying equivalent fractions.   In language arts, we will be studying the poetry of Robert Frost.  In social studies, we are learning about 5 major rivers in the United States. Ask your child what does Charlie rides motorcycles over hills stand for. We will also respond to writing prompts. As I always tell the kids, we have "miles to go before we sleep."
