And We're Back!!!

Hello parents!!! I hope that you guys enjoyed Fall Break.  I know that I certainly did.  However, I am back and ready for us to continue our learning.  Here are a few updates for this week.

Homework

All homework resumes this week- reading logs, spelling, and math. Reading logs will come home tomorrow.  Students should complete an entry for Monday-Thursday nights. So there should be 4 entries for this week. The next reading log will come home on Friday along with next week's spelling words. Please make sure that your child is completing their homework.

IXL.com

Each student should have a login for ixl.com.  Students should be completing at least 60 minutes per week. I will get reports on Sunday night to find out who has completed their 60 minutes. I will note in each student's agenda if they have not completed their 60 minutes for the week.

Picture Day

This Friday is Fall Picture Day. Students are allowed to dress nicely for pictures. Picture forms will most likely come back tomorrow.

We are studying......

Progress Report Week

Hello parents!!! Here is our weekly post.  Read the following and catch up on the happenings in our classroom.

  Progress Reports

This week progress reports will go home on Wednesday.  Please review the progress report with your child.  There are four weeks left to make improvements if they are needed.  Progress reports will also include information on AR progress.  Students should be at 50% of their AR goals by this point.

Field Trips

Last week permission slips came home for two upcoming field trips. The cost of the two trips was $45- $15 for the Tellus Museum and $30 for the Little White House.  Only a few students have returned their permission slips.  Remember partial payments can be made.  We will need a count to make sure that we reserve buses and have enough room for all students. Please let us know your intentions as soon as possible.

Math Test Results

We took our first math test last week.  Many students did well on the test.  Some did not do so well and are retaking the test.  Please remind your child to carefully check over their work.  Their were several small mistakes made. We want to make sure that all students work extremely hard and put their best foot forward.  I would like to congratulate the following students who met standards on this assessment.
