Its here! Its here!!!!!

Dearest parents!!! Its here!!!!Its here!!!! Finally, we have arrived at CRCT Time. We have prepared for this all year long.  The students have worked hard and they are ready!!!! Here is are some reminders for this week.

Thanks

Thanks again for such a wonderful Teacher Appreciation Week.  It is so nice to be thought of.  I really appreciate all the snacks, goodies, and gift cards. Let's just say that I was so well taken care of that I will not have to purchase another coke for the rest of year.

Encouraging Hands

Today, I sent home encouraging hands.  These hands are to be decorated and returned to school by tomorrow.  It was suppose to be sent last week.  However, I forgot.  Sorry. You do not have to be extensive.  You can just write in colored marker some encouraging words for testing.  Thanks in advance for returning these tomorrow.

Homework

This week we will not have our normal classroom homework.  Students are to read 30 minutes every night. This weekend, they will take home their Interactive Science and Social Studies Journals.  Reading through these will be great ways to review for the Science and Social Studies portions of the CRCT.  Please make sure that your student takes some time to read through these journals.

AR

We are stilling working hard toward achieving our AR goals.  Many students are well on their way.  We already have two students who have met their AR goals.  Congrats to Vincent and Lalla Kenza.  Please encourage your child to read and take more tests.  Accomplishing a goal is one of the greatest feeling there is.  I hope that all students will make their goal this nine weeks.

CRCT Preparation/Worries

Parents, it is with great excitement and confidence that I say to you that our class is ready for testing this week.  We have worked extremely hard all year.  The students know that they are brilliant and will rock the test.  I have emphasized to them that this is a time for them to show off what they have learned.  There are still a few worry warts. However, today we made a stress chain.  So that each day we can remove the stress from the room before testing begins.  I am so excited and can not wait to see how well my rock stars do!!!!

Progress Reports/Graded Papers

Progress reports will come home on Wednesday of this week.  Please look for these.  We have been extremely busy trying to catch up.  I am behind on grading papers and will try my best to be caught up by next week. Thanks so much for your patience!!!! :)

High Museum Trip

We had an awesome time at the High Museum.  The students saw lots of different art work.  They were so excited about seeing all of the different pieces. Here are some photos from our trip.

Happy April!!!!!!!

Happy April parents!!!!!Our school year is winding down.  The kids and I counted how any days we have left today.  We officially have 11 days until CRCT and 32 more school days until the end of the school year.  As I have told the students before, we have miles to go before we sleep. Here are a few updates for this week.

Museum Trip

Tomorrow is our trip to the High Museum of Art.  We will be leaving school at around 9:15 am.  Please make sure that your child has a sack lunch for our trip tomorrow.  If your child brings a lunch  from home, please place it in a disposable bag so that we don't have to keep up with lunch boxes. We will leave the museum around 1:00 pm. Our trip promises to be a great adventure.

Tests

This week we will have a time assessment as well as an assessment on magnets.  Please make sure that your child studies for both. The magnets assessment will be tomorrow.  The time assessment will be on Wednesday.

Graded Papers

Graded papers will come home on Wednesday of this week. Please check your child's assignments to see how well they have done on their work this week.  This is a great way to check for understanding. It is also a great way to see what areas help might be needed in.

Language Arts Homework

For the next couple of weeks leading up to CRCT, students will not have spelling homework.  Instead, students will have reading comprehension homework each night.
